We primarily provide residential trash pickup services in Caroline County and Hanover County, Virginia, with focused service in Doswell, Ruther Glen, Hanover Courthouse, and Ashland.

Due to recent demand and the closure of a local provider, we have also begun servicing select areas of King William County and Essex County. Service availability in these areas may be limited to specific routes or schedules to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

If you are located outside our core service area, we encourage you to contact us. We regularly evaluate opportunities to expand service where there is sufficient customer density.

We offer three primary service options:

**Weekly curbside pickup** using a customer-provided 96-gallon can

**Back-door / walk-up service**, where we retrieve the can from up to 100 yards off the road—ideal for seniors, disabled residents, or customers needing extra assistance

Recycling infrastructure and processing options vary significantly by region, and we are taking the time to fully understand the local recycling landscape before investing in a solution that meets our quality and reliability standards. Recycling services may be added in the future.

No. Our services are month-to-month, and you may cancel at any time with reasonable notice, provided your account is paid in full.

Services are billed monthly. Customers are responsible for maintaining current billing information and ensuring payments are made on time.

If a scheduled pickup falls on a recognized holiday, service will occur on the **next business day**.

TDS observes the following major holidays:

* New Year’s Day

* Memorial Day

* Juneteenth

* Independence Day

* Labor Day

* Thanksgiving Day

* Christmas Day

For example:

* Tuesday holiday → pickup moves to Wednesday

* Friday holiday → pickup moves to the following Monday

If a can is not accessible at the scheduled pickup time, service may be skipped for that week. Customers are encouraged to ensure cans are placed out on time. If issues arise, contacting us promptly allows us to evaluate options based on route availability.

Yes. **Bulk item pickup is available as an add-on service**. Items must:

* Fit within a **6×12 trailer**

* Not exceed **3 tons total weight**

* Stay within approximately **5 cubic yards of space**

Pricing depends on item type, volume, and disposal requirements. Customers should contact us in advance to schedule bulk pickup and receive a quote.

Yes. Customers may add **additional trash cans** to their weekly service for an additional fee. This option is ideal for larger households or customers with higher weekly trash volume. Cost varies from $20–$25 per month per additional can.

TDS Waste Solutions is a **locally owned and operated company** focused on reliability, accessibility, and customer care. We specialize in serving seniors, families, and residents who value consistent service, flexible options, and direct communication with the people running the business—not a call center.

No. We will not enter locked, fenced, or restricted areas. Containers must be accessible for service or retrieval.

Pickups may be missed due to:

• Improper container placement

• Inaccessible locations

• Weather conditions

• Equipment or road issues

We will make reasonable efforts to resume service as soon as conditions allow.

• Service is suspended after two (2) weeks of non-payment

• Service is canceled after five (5) weeks of non-payment and no communication with TDS regarding payment or intent to resume service

Yes.

• Late payments or payments returned for insufficient funds are subject to:
  

  • $10 for the first occurrence within a 12-month period

  • $25 for second or subsequent occurrences Failure to pay assessed fees may result in service suspension.

Yes. For operational, safety, billing, or dispute-resolution purposes, we may photograph containers, service locations, or contents. Photos are not used for marketing without your consent.

TDS is not responsible for damage caused by:

• Pre-existing property conditions

• Unmarked obstacles

• Low-hanging branches or soft ground

• Normal wear associated with service access

Yes. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue service for reasons including:

• Safety concerns

• Repeated non-compliance

• Abusive behavior toward staff

• Prohibited materials

• Non-payment or chronic late payment

You may cancel at any time with a 7 to 14 days’ notice prior to the next scheduled billing or service period. All outstanding balances must be paid prior to cancellation.

If a TDS-provided container is on the property at the time of cancellation, we reserve the right to retrieve it.

• Any trash found in the container will be bagged and left on the property

• TDS is not responsible for disposing of trash left behind due to non-payment

Trash containers must be placed in the agreed-upon pickup location by your scheduled service time. Containers should be accessible and free of obstructions.

Yes. Trash should be bagged whenever possible. We understand that occasional loose items may occur, but containers filled primarily with loose trash may not be serviced.

The following items are prohibited:

• Hazardous or liquid waste

• Chemicals, batteries, or medical waste

• Construction debris, dirt, concrete, or roofing materials

• Any material prohibited by local, state, or federal law

If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, please contact us before placing it in your container.

Overfilled containers, loose trash, or prohibited materials may result in:

• Missed pickup

• Service refusal

• Additional charges

Repeated violations may result in service suspension or cancellation.

If you select a plan that includes a container, the can remains the property of TDS Waste Solutions. Customers are responsible for reasonable care and proper use.

Damage caused by normal wear is expected. However, damage due to misuse, abuse, or unauthorized materials may result in repair or replacement charges.
